Acne-prone skin, Sandy, Utah

Every visit, written down

Gauze is a two-esthetician studio for acne-prone skin. We ask first, change one thing at a time and keep a plain log of what we notice at each visit, with a copy for you. Adults 18 and over, men and women alike. We are taking new clients.

The log

What we write down at each visit

Every client has a log: a short note from each visit, in plain words. It records what we saw and what we changed. It never predicts how your skin will look.

  1. 01
    75 min

    Step 1: The baseline

You talk through your routine with your esthetician, then have a first deep-cleansing facial. The log opens with where you break out and what you use.

  2. 02
    60 min

    Step 2: What changed

A facial with extractions where your skin allows. The note says what is different since the first visit.

  3. 03
    60 min

    Step 3: What we adjusted

We read the first two notes and change one thing: a calmer mask, shorter extractions or an LED add-on.

  4. 04
    60 min

    Step 4: The look back

You and your esthetician read all four notes together and decide what comes next. If a dermatologist should see a pattern, we say so.

Who to see

A dermatologist or an esthetician?

They do different work, and sometimes you need both. Here is how we divide it, and why we will send you to a dermatologist when a facial isn't the answer.

Your estheticians

Two estheticians, one way of writing it down

  • Aimee Kerr, lead esthetician, in a white tunic over a black top in the treatment room

    Aimee Kerr

    Lead esthetician

    • Esthetician license · UT Lic. 000000

Aimee is the studio's lead esthetician. She opens every client's log herself and reads it back to you at the fourth visit. She asks before she acts, and changes one thing at a time. Tuesday to Friday.

  • Yaneli Rico, esthetician, in a charcoal tunic with the sleeves rolled, beside the treatment bed

    Yaneli Rico

    Esthetician

    • Esthetician license · UT Lic. 000000

Yaneli does consultations, deep-cleansing facials and the quieter calming facial, and she writes her notes in the same plain words Aimee does, so your log reads the same whoever you see. Wednesday to Saturday.

Questions

Short answers before you book

01What happens at a first visit?

You start with a consultation: your routine, what you use and how your skin behaves. We look at your skin under a lamp and write down what we notice. If you booked the first visit with a facial, the facial follows, shaped by what you told us. Plan on 75 minutes.

02Do I need a consultation first?

Yes, once, before your first facial and before any log. It is how we learn your skin and your routine. If you come back after a long break, we start with a short check-in.

03Can I come in with a breakout?

Yes. Tell us when you book. We may suggest a calmer visit or another day, and we will tell you why.

04Do you see men?

Yes. Services here are named for what they do, and every one is the same for everyone who books it. If you shave, tell us on the day and we plan around it.

05When do you suggest a dermatologist?

When something is outside what a facial does: a spot that is changing, breakouts that are deep or painful, skin that is hot or swollen, or notes that look the same visit after visit. We say so at the visit and write down why. We don't diagnose.
